Tires seem to fall apart sometimes, in what we call partial or total detreads, when literally one of the steel belts comes off of the outside of the tire. There are two belts typically placed on top of the core of the tire and the problem is that many times the tire manufacturers don’t take proper steps to secure the outer edges of where those belts come together, and then the heat and the friction that is generated when the tires spin on your vehicle, especially on hot days often will cause the outer belt, the second belt, it is called, the second steel belt to literally peel off the tire. Most drivers, even professional drivers, aren’t capable of recovering from the vehicle that loses control when it loses one of its treads.
