Air bags can be a tremendous lifesaver and injury saver in cases involving frontal and ____ impacts. The problem is that air bag systems are not perfect and the sensors that are placed in the front of vehicles, which tell the computer on board the vehicle to fire the sensor often become worn or defective when they are produced and they don’t send the message to the computer on the car, which tells that air bag to fire. Everybody knows that in order for an air bag to save a life or prevent injury, it has to fire within literally a fraction of a second from when an accident begins to occur, and if the computer on the car does not get the proper message or does not send the proper message itself to the air bag to deploy, unfortunately serious injuries and death occur. The other area where we see problems on the kind of reverse side is that occasionally air bags fire when they are not supposed to fire. They will simply get an error message that they shouldn’t receive from the cars computer at highway speeds and the deployment of the air bag will actually cause an accident.
