Hit-and-Run Accidents in California
Unfortunately, almost one million hit-and-run accidents happen in the United States every year. The main cause of these accidents is negligence, and the reason drivers don’t stop is usually due to fear. If a driver has a warrant out for their arrest, an expired license, are in a stolen vehicle, have no auto insurance, or no active registration, then they’re liable not to stop and help at the scene. Drivers are also not liable to stop if they’re under the influence because they’re not in their right state of mind.
Once the police find the driver responsible, Offerdahl’s family could file a wrongful death lawsuit with the help of a California wrongful death attorney.
At Brady Law Group, we have helped thousands of families over the past 24 years prove their negligence claims and win large settlements for the loss of their loved ones. We don’t believe families should be held financially responsible for the negligence of another driver.
