Wearing Motorcycle Helmets in California
California Vehicle Code Section 27803 prohibits motorcyclists from traveling in the state without helmets. This law truly saves lives: the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration reported that that 309 motorcyclists escaped death in motorcycle accidents in 2016 due to the use of helmets.
Unfortunately, helmets cannot protect riders from all major injuries when a crash occurs.
