Jurupa Valley, CA – SUV and Semi-Truck Involved in Suspected Wrong-Way Accident on 60 Freeway

Jurupa Valley, CA (July 25, 2018) – A local news source reported that a suspected wrong-way accident involving an SUV and a semi-truck took place on the 60 Freeway in the vicinity of Pedley Road. The incident happened at approximately 11:40 AM in the morning on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. No detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed at this time.

According to the report from the California Highway Patrol, a Cadillac CUV was heading westbound along the 60 Freeway when, at some point, it ventured off the highway at the Pedley Road off-ramp from the east. At the same time, an oncoming semi-truck was preparing to make an exit off the highway, and the driver attempted to veer out of the way of the Cadillac. Ultimately, however, the truck sideswiped the smaller vehicle and crashed into the divider at the center of the road.

CHP officials confirmed the truck slid lengthwise along 60, and over 30 gallons of fuel spewed across the highway.

Afterward, paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and rendered aid to the Cadillac driver and the semi-truck operator. Officials affirmed both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries during the impact. The physical conditions of these individuals have not been revealed.

Due to the nature of the accident, law enforcement officials blocked off the majority of lanes on eastbound 60 for at least three hours.

Presently, the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
