2 Injured in DUI Car Crash

Scot Adam and Novita Adam Severely Injured in Live Oak Accident

Live Oak, CA (June 16, 2018) – Two individuals received serious injuries as the result of a reported DUI car crash near Live Oak Boulevard and Highway 99. Initial reports have identified the victims as 41-year old Scot Adam and 34-year old Novita Adam, both residents of the Live Oak area. California Highway Patrol has identified the other driver as 29-year old Fermin Rios.

California Highway Patrol reported that Rios was heading towards Highway 99. While driving down Live Oak Boulevard, he did not stop for oncoming vehicles. Sources indicate that the Adams were about to turn onto the highway when their vehicle collided with Rios’ car. As a result, the forceful impact sent the Adams’ car veering into the southbound lane and into the path of an oncoming car. Without warning, the Adams hit the left front of the third vehicle.

Reports have verified that Scot and Novita Adams were treated for serious injuries at Rideout Hospital, while two passengers from the southbound vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received care at the scene.

Following treatment for minor injuries at Rideout Hospital, Rios was interred at Sutter County Jail for drunk driving. Authorities determined that Rios had been consuming alcohol during the events leading up to the unfortunate accident.
