A Head-On Crash in Menifee, California Sends 2 to the Hospital

Menifee, CA (June 15, 2018) -According to the California Highway Patrol, a head-on collision hospitalized two people on Friday. The accident occurred in Menifee at the intersection of Scott Road and Merritt Road around 10:27 a.m.

The two vehicles collided in a head-on crash that blocked the roadway and severely impacted the flow of traffic in the area, initially causing traffic to come to a complete stop though officials quickly redirected traffic around the collision.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred after one of the vehicles moved into the northbound side of the road and proceeded into the path of the other vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, paramedics administered care to those injured during the crash. 

Two individuals sustained injuries in the crash and were subsequently transported to a local hospital to receive care. Their names have not been released and the extent of their injuries is still under review, though they do not appear to be life-threatening at this time. An investigation is ongoing into the accident and into what caused the vehicle to veer into the northbound lanes.
