Encanto, CA – 15-Year-Old Driver Causes Multi-Injury Crash at 61st and Akins

Encanto, CA (March 9, 2019) – An underage driver caused a traffic accident that caused multiple injuries. The 15-year old moved into the way of an oncoming car at a local intersection, causing a collision. This crash occurred Thursday afternoon, March 7^th. The accident sent the 15-year-old and four other people to local hospitals.

The 15-year-old, who was with three passengers, was operating a 1995 Honda Accord south on 61^st Street. He then turned left in front of a 2010 Toyota Camry. The Toyota, which was traveling westbound on Akins Avenue, then hit the Honda on the driver’s side. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. at 61^st Street and Akins Avenue, just north of Imperial Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol.

The underage driver was one of five people seriously injured.
