San Diego, CA – Man Dies After Crash On I-5, Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI
San Diego, CA (March 9, 2019) – An accident involving a possible DUI occurred on March 8th just after 1:00 a.m. The crash is believed to have taken the life of one person, an unidentified elderly man.
The driver of a pickup truck was traveling on the Interstate 5 when it rear-ended a silver sedan. This accident took place early Friday morning on the northbound side of I-5, near Manchester Avenue, in the Cardiff area.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they attended to the elderly victim, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck’s driver was unharmed in the collision.
Both vehicles were wrecked and ended up blocking lanes on the freeway. The driver responsible for the accident was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
