Elderly Pedestrian Injured in Accident in Redding

(June 14, 2018) – According to a reputable source, an elderly pedestrian was injured Wednesday night after being hit by a vehicle in Redding. The accident took place in the area of Hartnell Avenue Bechelli Lane around 8:00 p.m. Reportedly, a woman who appeared to be around 60-years-old was walking south down Hartnell Avenue, heading from the northeast direction of the crossing. Sadly, a truck was turning west from Bechelli Lane when it, unfortunately, struck the woman.

Paramedics were quick to arrive on the scene and rushed the woman to Mercy Medical Center. She was reportedly suffering from very serious injuries. The name of the patient is not being released, although it was confirmed that she was bleeding from the head on the way to the hospital.

Divyesh Patel was identified as the driver of the truck who struck the woman. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities following the incident. Investigators are currently busy working t determine if the driver is liable for the crash.
