Lake Mathews, CA – 4 People Killed in Fiery Head-On Collision Involving 2 Pickup Trucks on Cajalco Road
Lake Mathews, CA (March 16, 2019) – A fiery, head-on collision took place near Lake Mathews Saturday morning, March 16. Four people died as a result of his accident.
The collision happened at around 5:10 a.m. It involved a 2001 GMC Sierra that was traveling westbound on Cajalco Road east of Gavilan Road and a 2006 Chevy Avalanche, that was moving eastbound on Cajalco Road. After the crash, the Chevy caught fire and became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the GMC was a 56-year-old man from Perris, traveling with a passenger, a 52-year-old woman, also from Perris.
No ages or cities have been released about the two men in the Avalanche.
Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid. Both the Chevy occupants and the GMC driver were dead at the scene. The passenger in the GMC was taken to a local hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries there and died a short time later.
The identities of all four people involved are being withheld until next of kin is notified.
