Fremont, CA – Fatal Two-Car Crash Closes Central Ave for Hours
Fremont, CA (March 17, 2019) – A fatal traffic collision involving two automobiles happened on March 17th, just after 6:15 p.m. during rush hour, that took the life of one person. The traffic collision closed down a stretch of Central Avenue as officers look into the incident.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around 6:17 p.m. between Blacow Rd. and Southwood Dr. The two-vehicle crash was between a minivan and a Honda Civic.
The male driver of the minivan attempted to flee the scene of the crash but was apprehended and taken into custody.
Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid the injured drivers. The injured parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment and further evaluation. Sadly, the passenger in the Honda Civic died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
