Chain Reaction Accidents
Multi-vehicle accidents often happen when more than two cars hit each other in a chain of rear-end accidents. Typically, this takes place because of the force of the first collision. These types of accidents are called “chain reactions.”
Although these types of collisions can be the result of one driver’s negligence, chain reaction accidents can involve carelessness by multiple drivers.
This kind of crashes often injures several people, including passengers. Therefore, determining fault can be particularly challenging. If you are involved in a chain reaction accident, you need to get the information of all the drivers involved, obtain witness accounts, and contact the police to create a police report.
You should also try to take pictures of the crash, including skid marks, vehicle debris and property damage. If you are injured, you should contact an attorney as soon as possible after the accident to help deal with any litigation. Pinpointing causation can be difficult. An attorney can help you in proving that you deserve to receive compensation and that the other drivers were negligent and at fault for the accident. An attorney can also help you deal with the multiple insurance companies involved.
