Bakersfield Car Accident on Hageman Road

2 Individuals Injured in Collision in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (June 16, 2018) – Two individuals were injured after a deadly collision that took place on Hageman Road, near Verdugo Lane, around 6:00 PM PST on Friday, June 15. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed to the public. At present, the circumstances surrounding the accident are unknown.

Bakersfield Police reported that a Toyota Sequoia headed down the westbound lane of Hageman. Without warning, the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a BMW SUV. Details into the crash regarding how and why the two vehicles collided are still under investigation. Following the crash, paramedics attended to the two unnamed motorists, one man and one woman.

The woman who was driving the BMW SUV received major injuries and was rushed to the local hospital. She was reported to be in critical condition, and updates are ongoing. 

Authorities have also revealed that the man who was driving the Toyota received minor injuries and was hospitalized. Though the extent of their injuries has not been released, they do not appear to be life-threatening. As of posting, the names of the victims had not been released to the public.

Reports indicate the driver of the Toyota was driving down the wrong lane and into direct traffic, which resulted in the terrible accident and the injuries sustained by the female driver. Further investigations will look into the possibility of substance use (e.g. drunk driving, drug use), negligent/distracted driving, or a potential medical problem were the root causes of the crash.
