Pedestrian Accidents in California
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted a study in 2016 that showed that intersections were the site of fatal pedestrian crashes just 18% of the time. This shows that most pedestrian accidents happen on roadway shoulders, while crossing roads, and in other places where drivers may not expect a pedestrian.
No matter where a pedestrian is walking, those in vehicles have a responsibility to stay alert. A pedestrian is much more vulnerable in an accident than a vehicle.
