Rancho Mirage, CA – Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By A Car on Bob Hope Dr

Rancho Mirage, CA (April 6, 2019) – A bicyclist was hit by a car on Friday afternoon, April 5, causing a fatality.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident.  According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Bob Hope Drive in front of the Agua Caliente Resort and Casino in Rancho Mirage.

The car was moving northbound on Bob Hope Drive when it struck the bicyclist traveling east in the pedestrian crosswalk at Casino Way.

The bicyclist, who was an elderly man, was taken to an area hospital once paramedics arrived on the scene. He suffered serious injuries and succumbed to them, being pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the sedan stayed on scene and cooperated fully with investigators.
