Freeway Accidents in California
A report by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration examined the reasons why cars crash while changing lanes. The most common type was the “regular” crash in which a car collides with another during the process of changing lanes. Other reasons for lane change crashes include merging with other cars onto freeways and drifting or veering into the opposing lane.
Drowsy or intoxicated driving, failure to check a blind sport, speeding or other factors are just some of the reasons why an accident may occur during a lane change.
