Orange, CA – 1 Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on I-5 near Rte 22

Orange, CA (April 9, 2019) – On the morning of April 9^th, a fatal truck accident occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway at around 8:30 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the Garden Grove Freeway. The accident happened when a pickup truck and a big rig truck crashed into each other on the highway.

When crews responded to the crash, they discovered that the pickup truck rear-ended the big rig truck as it slowed due to a traffic buildup. The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to plow underneath the truck, resulting in the female driver dying at the scene.

Aside from the fatality, the paramedics tended to the injured tow truck driver as well. The severity of the crash caused an even bigger traffic jam.
