Merced CA- Injured Victim Extracted After Crash with Semi on Hwy 59 and Gerard Ave
Merced, CA (April 12, 2019)- A Thursday afternoon crash between a big rig and a car left one injured. The crash happened on Highway 59 and Gerard Avenue at around 5:55 pm.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Nissan Altima collided with a big rig for reasons unknown. During the crash, a PG&E power pole was hit but undamaged. The Nissan sustained major left-side damage.
The Nissan’s driver had to be extricated from the damaged vehicle by paramedics and firefighters who responded to the scene. The extent of the driver’s injuries is unknown at this time.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
