San Mateo, CA- Man Killed on Caltrain Tracks at Hillsdale Station
San Mateo, CA (April 12, 2019)- Caltrain spokesperson Alex Eisenhart reported that a pedestrian was hit on Wednesday by a train in the Hillsdale Caltrain Station on South El Camino Real.
Eisenhart said that the crash happened at approximately 4:20 pm.
Train number 602, carrying approximately 300 passengers, hit the pedestrian on the tracks. Caltrain officials noted that the pedestrian was trespassing on the tracks when the crash occurred.
The accident delayed trains for up to two hours.
None of the passengers on train 602 were injured in the crash.
Eisenhart stated that the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Transit Police Bureau will investigate the crash and identify the victim.
