Ojai, CA-Crash at Maricopa Highway and W. Ojai Ave. Kills Pedestrian

Ojai, CA (April 22, 2019)- An accident near the intersection of West Ojai Avenue and Highway 33 (Maricopa Highway) left an 83-year-old Ojai woman dead.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department reported that the crash occurred when a Honda Civic hit the woman in the intersection at approximately 5:54 pm on Sunday. The woman was in the crosswalk when the crash took place. She sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she died.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with officials following the crash.

The name of the woman killed in the accident has not been released pending family notification.

An investigation is underway.
