San Diego, CA- Major Injuries in Accident at Tierrasanta Blvd. and Tambor Rd.

San Diego, CA (May 3, 2019)- A car accident in San Diego on Thursday left an 88-year-old with major injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:05 pm at Tierrasanta Boulevard and Tambor Road. According to San Diego Police Officer Sarah Foster, a 2008 Toyota sedan operated by the 88-year-old man turned onto Tierrasanta Boulevard following a stop at Tambor Road. From here, however, the Toyota moved into oncoming westbound traffic, where it collided with a Lincoln Navigator.

Reportedly, the driver of the Lincoln had the right-of-way. A 2-year-old child in the Lincoln received a cut and the Lincoln’s 33-year-old driver was unharmed. However, the crash caused the Toyota driver to receive major injuries.

The Toyota driver’s status is unknown at this time.

The crash is under investigation by the traffic unit of the San Diego Police Department.
