Los Angeles, CA – Jeli Cabrerra & Modesta Tecuapcho Killed in Crash on I-10 Near Washington Blvd.

Los Angeles, CA (May 4, 2019) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on May 2nd just after 4 a.m. that took the life of two people – Jeli Cabrerra, 35 and Modesta Tecuapcho, 55.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred on Thursday at 4:20 a.m. near the Washington Blvd. offramp of the Santa Monica Freeway I-10.

Cabrerra and Tecuapcho were in a stalled Nissan car when they were hit from behind by a Chevrolet Silverado. One of the victims was ejected from the automobile. The accident left the pickup truck overturned and the Nissan severely damaged.

Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid.  The injured parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment and further evaluation. Sadly, Cabrerra and Tecuapcho did not survive this accident. The 46-year-old driver of Silverado retained minor injuries.

Roadways were closed pending investigations, but are now reopened.
