What to Do if You Are in a Bus Accident In California
If you step onto a bus you are entrusting your safety to the bus driver as well as the owner of the bus. We typically feel safe and secure on a bus even though they typically don’t have seat belts. But accidents do happen.
With bus accidents, the consequences can be complex. There are more victims, more responsible parties, and injuries can sometimes be much more grievous. For that reason, you should contact an experienced, qualified attorney to help you with your claim.
The first thing you need to do after a bus accident is to get medical attention. Usually, the bus company will take care of the expense of your medical visit, whether you file a claim against them or not.
Try to document the accident scene. Get names, phone numbers, addresses, and e-mail addresses of other passengers, the driver, and any others involved. Your attorney might have to contact these people to investigate your claim. You should also take photographs of the crash if you can.
Bus companies also usually have unique insurance that is more comprehensive than standard insurance so that it covers all passengers. Your California bus accident attorney will know the laws and requirements related to this kind of insurance.
