Brentwood, CA –UPDATE: Jose Munoz Padilla Killed in Fatal DUI Accident on CA-4

Brentwood, CA (May 7, 2019) On the afternoon of May 6^th, a fatal DUI accident happened on Highway 4 at approximately 4:35 p.m. A 2018 Honda SUV was headed westbound on the highway when it drifted off into the opposite lane and into the path of a 2013 Toyota Corolla. The two vehicles crashed head-on, not far from Balfour Road.

When the ambulance arrived at the scene, they found the driver of the Toyota, 51-year-old Jose Munoz Padilla, dead at the scene. They arrested the driver of the Honda, 46-year-old Jan Kristian Gyllstrom, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Crews shut down the highway for about four hours as they investigated and cleared the scene.
