Long Beach, CA- Jessica Bingaman Killed in Crash With Man Trying to Elude Police

Long Beach, CA (May 8, 2019)- A known gang member fleeing police caused an accident on Tuesday that left professional dog-walker and mother Jessica Bingaman dead.

According to reports, the police were pursuing 43-year-old Javier Oliverez starting at Broadway and Alamitos at approximately 11:30 am. The chase concluded with one fatality at 3rd Street and Temple Street, where Oliverez struck Bingaman’s vehicle.

Bingaman was traveling toward a dog park with six dogs when the crash occurred. Emergency medical responders were required to extricate Bingaman and the pets from the damaged vehicle. Bingaman was transported to a local hospital, where she later passed away.

Five of the six pets in the vehicle were killed in the crash.

Authorities stated that Oliverez was driving a car that had been reported stolen. He has been arrested and charged with evading police, felony DUI, and manslaughter.
