San Bernardino, CA- W. Baseline St Near N. Sierra Way Site of Bus Crash
San Bernardino, CA (May 9, 2019)- The San Bernardino County Fire Department reported a crash involving an OmniTrans bus that took place at West Baseline Street near North Sierra Way at around 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
The SBCFD said that the crash happened as the eastbound bus on Baseline Street struck a westward traveling vehicle that swerved into the bus’s lane.
After responding to the scene, the fire department extricated one victim from the vehicle and treated six people on the bus for minor injuries.
One person was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for critical injury treatment while additional victims were taken to other hospitals in the area.
The reason why the vehicle veered into the opposite traffic lane is unknown at this time.
An investigation is underway.
