Napa, CA- Child Hurt in Bike Accident on Kansas Ave Near Soscol Ave

Napa, CA (May 10, 2019)- Kansas Avenue close to the South Napa Marketplace and Soscol Avenue was the scene of a bicycle crash that hurt a 12-year-old child on Thursday.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:40 pm when a pickup truck ran into the child as he rode on the south curb, heading westward on Kansas Avenue.

The pickup driver reportedly was turning into the parking lot of the shopping center from the westbound side of Kansas Avenue when the bicyclist was struck.

The young victim was transported by air ambulance to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland. Their injuries and current status are unknown.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this time as well.

The entrance to the Marketplace parking lot was closed for the commencement of the investigation. However, Kansas Avenue remained open.

The crash is under investigation.
