Los Gatos, CA – Ashley M. Oliver Arrested For DUI After Fatal Crash on CA-17

Los Gatos, CA (May 11, 2019) – A multi-vehicle accident involving suspicion of felony DUI occurred on May 11 shortly after 2 a.m. that took the life of a teenager in Santa Clara County.

Ashley Marie Oliver, 28 of San Jose was driving a Chrysler minivan in the wrong direction on southbound SR 17 south of Redwood Estates when she crashed into a Toyota Corolla carrying five teenage passengers. She was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Both vehicles were had major damage and were facing northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway.

A 16-year-old boy riding in the backseat of the Corolla died because of the crash, and three other passengers suffered major injuries. Crews extracted two trapped individuals, including the fatal victim. Oliver was treated at the hospital for injuries then booked into Santa Clara County Jail. The other victims were taken to a local trauma center.

The young passengers in the Corolla were from Fremont and have not yet been identified.
