Motorcycles in California
California’s Department of Motor Vehicles states that 25,646,228 cars and 857,677 motorcycles were registered in the state in 2018. No other state in the U.S. has more registered motorcycles than California. However, as these data show, far more cars are on the road than motorcycles.
California is known as a motorcycle-friendly state. With its gorgeous scenery, mild weather, and wide-open roads, motorcycles are used for commuting as well as recreation. Unfortunately, many automobile drivers become accustomed to only keeping an eye out for other cars or larger vehicles. This can lead to serious and sometimes fatal motorcycle accidents.
