San Jose, CA – One Motorcyclist Killed, One Arrested In Street Race Crash On Cahalan Ave.

San Jose, CA (May 19, 2019) – A multi-vehicle accident involving two street racing motorcycles and a car occurred on Thursday around 5:50 p.m., that took the life of one person and injured two others.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident.  According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around May 16thon southbound Cahalan Ave.

A 29-year-old man was riding a Honda CBR motorcycle on southbound Cahalan Ave. at a high rate of speed when around he crashed into a Nissan Altima turning left onto the road from Dailey Ave.

The victim was racing with another motorcyclist riding an MV Agusta. Police arrested 30-year-old San Jose resident Blake Kampfen on suspicion of participating in a speed contest.

Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid the injured parties. The motorcycle rider died from his injuries and the driver and a passenger in the Nissan were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
