17-year-old Injured in Pedestrian Crash near Ventura Park Road in Thousand Oaks

Thousand Oaks, California (June 23, 2018) – A pedestrian crash on Thursday severely injured a 17-year-old girl according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday evening and occurred on Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks near Ventura Park Road.

The California Highway Patrol has stated that the accident occurred after the 17-year-old girl, identified only as an Agoura native, had been traveling northbound on the 101. she collided with a center divider for unknown reasons and her vehicle became disabled.

She then proceeded to exit her vehicle and was subsequently hits by an oncoming car. The other vehicle has not been identified and initial reports indicate that the driver did not remain at the scene of the accident. An investigation is ongoing to locate the vehicle involved in this hit-and-run.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders directed traffic away from the area and traffic slowed as a result. Paramedics administered care to the victim, but the severity of the injuries necessitated further treatment. she was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center to receive care. Authorities have detailed her injuries as major and potentially life-threatening.
