San Diego, CA- Critical Injuries in Pedestrian Crash on University Ave

San Diego, CA (May 22, 2019)- A pedestrian crash in the City Heights area resulted in critical injuries at approximately 10 am on Tuesday.

The accident occurred on University Avenue when a 69-year-old woman was hit while crossing the road. Emergency personnel who arrived at the site of the crash found her lying in the street. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a broken pelvis and a brain injury. Her name and current status are currently unknown.

According to police reports, the 18-year-old driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stopped her car and cooperated with officials.

The accident is under investigation.
