California’s Street Racing Laws
Street racing and other illegal driving practices have recently grown in popularity in California. These kinds of events are always dangerous and can lead to serious injuries or death. Currently, street racing and “sideshow” type events are classified as misdemeanors in California. However, lawmakers are starting to recognize the extremely dangerous nature of these risky practices. Legislators in northern California are currently pushing for a law that would make street racing and similar behavior a felony.
