Banning, CA- Fatal Accident on the 10 Fwy Near Hargrave St

Banning, CA (May 24, 2019)- A deadly crash occurred on Thursday at approximately 7 am on the 10 Freeway eastbound near Hargrave Street.

Reports stated that a Rialto man driving a Nissan Sentra eastbound at approximately 70 mph attempted to pass a second vehicle, which was traveling approximately 55 mph.

The attempted pass caused the Nissan driver to lose control and run into an embankment, crashing into a tree close to the freeway ramp.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the crash site.

The victim’s identity is unknown at this time.

An investigation into the crash, including whether rainy weather or speed were factors, is ongoing.
