Mendocino, CA – Two-Car Accident On Hwy 1 Kills Man Near Jack Peters Bridge

Mendocino, CA (May 26, 2019) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on May 25th around 9 a.m., that took the life of one person.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred on Saturday morning on Highway 1 near Jack Peters Bridge.

A 48-year-old Mendocino man was killed due to this fatal two-car accident and as well, a Portland Oregon man was injured. The Mendocino man was traveling northbound in a 1991 Honda Civic, turned left in front of a southbound 2002 Ford Infiniti carrying two, a 36-year-old man, driving, and a 32-year-old woman. The vehicles struck broadside and the driver of the Civic was killed. The driver of the Infiniti sustained injuries, and the passenger was unhurt.

Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid. Sadly, this was a fatal accident.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
