Castaic, CA – Tow Truck Driver Hit & Killed By Semi In Hit-And-Run on I-5 

Castaic, CA (June 1, 2019) – A tow truck driver who was working alongside the 5 Freeway on the evening of May 31 passed away after being struck by a big rig in a hit-and-run accident.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident.  According to CHP officers, the crash occurred at 8:15 p.m. Friday on the southbound side of the freeway near Vista del Lago.

The 35-year-old tow truck driver was working with a broken down vehicle when the big rig hit him and then fled the scene.

Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid. Sadly, the tow truck driver did not survive his injuries from this accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continued to search for the driver of the big rig. It was described by witnesses as a red and black big rig that was hauling a double trailer, possibly fitted with Arizona license plates.
