Visalia, CA- Ave 309 and Hwy 216 Site of Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Visalia, CA (June 4, 2019)- A pickup truck and motorcycle were involved in a fatal accident on Thursday at approximately 7:14 am near Cutler Park in Visalia.

California Highway Patrol officer Ed Flynn reported that the crash, which took place at Avenue 309 and Hwy 216, occurred when a pickup truck turning left onto Highway 216 eastbound was hit by the motorcycle.

The 21-year-old male motorcyclist was killed after being thrown from the motorcycle and sustaining major injuries. He passed away while being transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

According to reports, the pickup’s driver, Mary Taylor, failed to yield to the motorcycle’s right of way when she turned onto the highway. The motorcyclist attempted to veer away from the truck but could not avoid the collision.

The CHP noted that the motorcyclist was unlicensed and did not have a motorcycle endorsement for California. He was wearing a helmet.

Taylor was unharmed in the accident.
