Prunedale, CA- Fatal DUI Crash on San Miguel Canyon Rd and Strawberry Rd

Prunedale, CA (June 6, 2019)- A DUI driver killed three women in a crash on Friday in Prunedale.

The accident took place north of Strawberry Road on San Miguel Canyon Road at approximately 6 am. 27-year-old Hilda Valencia Flores was driving a brown Chevrolet Malibu while under the influence of drugs. She crashed head-on with a white Chevrolet HHR, killing 58-year-old Manuela Marta Torres, 49-year-old Blanca Estela Rangel, and 43-year-old Maria Teresa Rangel. All three were Salinas residents.

The driver of the Chevrolet HHR sustained major injuries and was transported to Natividad Hospital for treatment.

Flores, who also sustained serious injuries and hospitalization, was arrested and booked at Monterey County Jail for felony charges of driving under the influence, causing bodily injury, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and causing bodily injury or death to multiple victims.
