Bakersfield, CA- Fatal Crash Between Utility Truck and Sedan on Taft Hwy Near Mountain Ridge Dr

Bakersfield, CA (June 7, 2019)- A fatal crash between a utility truck and blue compact sedan occurred Wednesday on Taft Highway near Mountain Ridge Drive.

Bakersfield Police reported that the crash, which occurred in the 5500 block of Taft Highway, involved a utility truck carrying a power pole colliding with the car when the driver swerved into the truck’s lane.

The driver of the car passed away at the scene of the accident. The truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The police report stated that there were no passengers in either vehicle,

Police do not believe that speed or intoxicating substances were factors in the crash. Its cause is under investigation.
