Artesia, CA- Car Catches Fire in Deadly Accident on the 91 Fwy Near Pioneer Blvd

Artesia, CA (June 7, 2019)- The 91 Freeway near Pioneer Boulevard was the scene of a crash on Wednesday that left a woman dead and a man injured.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2010 crossover utility vehicle lost control in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, swerved off the road, and struck a tree. Following this crash, the car caught fire.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle in flames and were unable to reach the victim. She passed away at the scene. Her identity is unknown at this time.

As the car was burning, a motorcycle encountered the accident debris on the freeway, which caused him to crash. He suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. However, he was reportedly conscious following the crash.

The accident is under investigation.
