Garberville, CA – 69-Year-Old Stockton Man Killed in Garberville Motorcycle Accident on U.S. 101 Near Arnette Dr.

Peter had his left turn indicator on and was stopped, waiting for a break in traffic. A 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle was driven by a 69-year-old Stockton man, was traveling southbound U.S. 101 at an unspecified speed. The man saw the Ford stopped ahead of him and hit the brakes on his motorcycle, but was unable to avoid striking the rear of the Ford.

Speeding And Motorcycles In California
Almost half of the accidents involving a motorcycle are driven by speeding or alcohol abuse. These factors obviously play a large role in accidents among cars and other types of vehicles too. However, because motorcycles are so small and don’t provide very much protection to the rider, crashes that involve speeding or alcohol are extremely more likely to result in death or grave injury.
As well, motorcycles colliding with a fixed object account for 25 percent of motorcyclist deaths, but only 18 percent of car crash fatalities. Again, because the motorcyclist is unprotected and is likely to be ejected from their bike, these accidents are more deadly for riders.
