Santa Ana, CA- Five People Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on Fwy 5 at East 1st St

Santa Ana, CA (June 10, 2019)- A wrong-way DUI driver injured four people in a crash on Saturday near East First Street on the 5 Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place at approximately 1:30 am when a white Acura TLX was struck by a black car going southbound in the northbound lane.

The CHP report stated that the driver of the black car was intoxicated at the time and will be arrested under suspicion of DUI. The intoxicated driver, as well as the four people in the Acura, suffered injuries, with at least one person sustaining major injuries.

Details about the current condition of the victims and their identities have not been released to the public.
