Bakersfield, California – Young Teenager Dies during Fatal Traffic Accident on Lerdo Highway

Bakersfield, California (June 25, 2018) – Bakersfield local news reported that a young teenage boy died as the result of a fatal traffic accident that took place on the Lerdo Highway. The incident occurred sometime on the afternoon of Sunday, June 24, 2018. Authorities have identified the deceased victim as 15-year old Juan Angel Alvarez, who was instantly killed during the traumatic impact. Furthermore, officials revealed that five other people were in the vehicle with Alvarez at the time of the crash, but their identities have not yet been disclosed to the public.

Sources indicated the accident took place when the unidentified driver of the car containing Alvarez and four other passengers swerved off the road and crashed head-on into a power pole near the Lerdo Highway. At present, it is unknown why the driver veered suddenly. Still, the California Highway Patrol revealed the driver may have attempted to make a sharp, unsafe turn, ultimately resulting in the brutal accident.
