Simi Valley, California – Motorcyclist Dies After Fatal Crash Near Tapo Street

Simi Valley, California (June 25, 2018) – Ventura County news sources reported that a motorcyclist was killed as the result of a reputed hit-and-run accident between Cochran and Eileen Streets, near the Tapo Street area. The incident took place a little before 8:30 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018. Authorities identified the deceased victim as 33-year old William Allen Miller, of Simi Valley. Meanwhile, the culprit has been identified as 64-year old Robert Chaffin, who crashed a blue 2006 Ford Escape into Miller’s bike and ultimately killed the motorcyclist.

Police reports indicated Miller was riding his motorcycle southbound on Tapo Street. At the same time, Chaffin was driving his Ford Focus northbound and has attempted to make a left turn towards a nearby shopping center. Without warning, Chaffin plowed his vehicle into Miller’s bike. Officials revealed that the Ford Focus received damage to its front end. After the crash, Chaffin immediately fled the scene and did not cooperate with authorities.

Sadly, Miller sustained traumatic injuries from the crash and died sometime later.

At a later time in the evening, police officers arrested Chaffin on the charges of felony hit-and-run in the Los Angeles County area, and the motorist was interred at Ventura County Jail.
