Baker, CA – Fatal Rollover Accident Reported On 15 Freeway

Baker, CA (June 15, 2019) – A single-vehicle accident occurred on May 12th, that took the life of two people.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred on the 15 Freeway near Barstow.

A 29-year-old man from Barstow was driving a 2000 BMW convertible northbound on the 15 Freeway. The car was traveling in the No. 1 lane at a high speed as it got near another vehicle that was traveling around 70 mph. The BMW driver tried to avoid the slower-moving vehicle by turning the wheel to the right, but the driver lost control. The BMW moved across the lanes of traffic and rolled down a dirt embankment striking a barbed wire fence and overturning multiple times. The car then burst into flames.

Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid. Sadly, the male driver and his male passenger sustained fatal injuries.
