Turlock, CA- Fatal Scooter Accident Kills Child on West Christoffersen Pkwy and Panorama Ave

Turlock, CA (June 28, 2019)- An 8-year-old child was killed in a scooter crash near Turlock Junior High School at West Christoffersen Parkway and Panorama Avenue Wednesday at approximately 7:22 pm.

According to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s office, the victim of the crash is Long Beach resident David Herrera. Reportedly, Herrera was traveling on Panorama Avenue by scooter when a Toyota Sedan hit him as he crossed Christoffersen Parkway southbound.

Reportedly, the vehicle was moving west on Christoffersen Parkway toward Panorama when Herrera was hit.

Emergency medical personnel reported to the crash site and found Herrera lying in the road with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he passed away.

Police noted that the Toyota driver, an 18-year-old woman, was not intoxicated or speeding at the time of the crash.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
