Walnut Creek, CA – Thomas Jancek Killed in Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Donald D. Doyle Hwy

Walnut Creek, CA (June 28, 2019) – A 52-year-old man was reportedly struck dead by a tow truck on Saturday, June 22nd. The accident happened on Donald D. Doyle Hwy near S. Main St. at around 1:00 a.m. 

The Contra Costa County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased victim as Thomas Jancek, a resident of Walnut Creek. It is believed that Jancek was walking on the northbound lanes of the highway when he was struck by a tow truck driver. Jancek sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the collision. The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials following the accident.
