San Juan Capistrano, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Accident on Ortega Highway

San Juan Capistrano, CA (July 14, 2018) – According to a local news source in San Juan Capistrano, a fatal motorcycle crash took place along Ortega Highway in the vicinity of the Orange-Riverside County border Friday evening. The deadly accident occurred just east of the I-5 Freeway at around 7:0 p.m.

California Highway Patrol along with the Orange County Fire Authority stated that the motorcyclist was a man in his 20’s who was riding his bike on Ortega Highway when a minivan struck him for reasons that have not been confirmed. Paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene and sadly pronounced the young man dead shortly after their arrival. The authorities will not be releasing the name of the victim until loved ones can be notified.

Both men who were riding in the minivan were reportedly unharmed during the collision. Authorities were forced to close down a portion of Ortega Highway in both directions due to the wreck. The eastbound lanes of the highway were reopened shortly after 9:00 p.m. The investigation into the cause of this crash is currently being conducted in order to establish liability.
