Dixon, CA – Woman Killed in Deadly Crash on I-80 Freeway

Dixon, CA (July 17, 2018) – A collision in the westbound lanes of the I-80 Freeway left at least one person dead and two more injured in the vicinity of the Highway 124 off-ramp on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The deadly accident reportedly took place at approximately 9:50 a.m. as the results left the vehicles involved blocking the on-ramp.

The CHP report stated that a black 4-door Dodge sedan swerved from the southbound side of the Freeway and crossed over lanes, subsequently crashing into another motorist. The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to roll over onto its roof before halting near the on-ramp. One female who was in the vehicle that overturned reportedly died at the scene of the accident. Along with the victim, another adult, as well as a child were apparently trapped inside the vehicle after the collision.

Firefighters were called to the scene and responded promptly in order to assist the victims. All those who were involved had to be extricated from the vehicle. There has been no more information made available pertaining to the cause of this accident, and the names of those involved have not been released at this time. All the events that resulted in this accident are presently under investigation in an effort to establish liability.
